IQAC Seminar and Software Development Webinar held at CUET
A seminar on “Role of IQAC in Quality Assurance in University” was held at Chattogram University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) on Monday and another webinar was held on Sunday evening.
Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Alam was present as the chief guest in both the events.
Institute of Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Director Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman Bhuiyan chaired the seminar held at the Council Room of the university.
Dr. Mohammad Shamsul Arefin, Dean Electric and Computer Technology; Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Humayun Kabir, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Registrar (Additional Duty); Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology Dr. A.H. Rashedul Hossain; Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Planning Dr. Muhammad Rashidul Hasan were present as special guests.
IQAC Additional Director Professor Dr. Md. Sanaul Rabbi welcomed the event. Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments, Center Chairmen, Office Heads and Hall Provosts of various faculties of the university participated in the seminar.
Earlier, on Sunday evening, a webinar titled "Mastering Software Development: Proven Strategies & Techniques" was organized by the Computer Science and Engineering Department of CUET with the participation of professional software engineers to help final year students acquire skills in software development. CEOs and senior software engineers from leading software manufacturers also participated. Software engineers guided students in webinars on all the important steps to follow to build a quality software product.
CSE Department Head Professor Dr. A.H.M. Ashfaq Habib presided over the seminar while, the Dean of Electrical and Computer Engineering Faculty, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shamsul Arefin was present as the chief guest.
The webinar was supervised by a Software engineering course teacher Mir Mu. Saqui Kawsar. Rajeev Deb, CEO of Soft Robotics Bangladesh Limited; Senior Software Engineer of Cephalo Bangladesh Limited Md. Arman Ul Islam; Software Engineers of Soft Robotics Bangladesh Limited A.H.M. Tarek, Md. Nazmul Islam, Rifat Simon Riant and Md. Arafat Uddin attended the webinar. CSE department lecturer Moumita Sen Sharma conducted the webinar with the participation of 130 final year students on Zoom link.
While speaking as the chief guest, Professor Dr. Mohammad Shamsul Arefin said, “Students will get an opportunity to combine theoretical knowledge with practical application in the ongoing software engineering course through this webinar. As a result, they will recognize the effectiveness of software engineering course and its importance in professional life.”
